Alan Stephens
Corporate Director of Operational Excellence
Since joining Columbia Hospitality in 2006, Alan Stephens has gained intimate knowledge of the company's portfolio properties while holding a variety of leadership roles in the Pacific Northwest and in Portugal. Before assuming the role of General Manager at Talaris Conference Center in 2008, Alan acted as Director of Rooms at Salish Lodge & Spa. He has spent a considerable amount of time supporting all portfolio properties on a task force basis, specifically with long-term assignments as the opening General Manager at the Kenwood Inn and Spa in Sonoma County, California and at The Yeatman in Oporto, Portugal.
As Corporate Director of Operational Excellence, Alan will be dedicated to assisting the property leadership teams in achieving excellence in every part of their operations, specifically regarding innovation with products and services, identifying efficiencies to drive great profitability.
Alan holds a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Washington State University. After graduation he joined Four Seasons Hotels holding a variety of management positions in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Maui. After the whirlwind tour of the United States he came back to his Seattle roots and joined a company with similar values and beliefs.
