Julie Meschke

Vice President of Human Resources

 

A strategic leader, Julie Meschke's extensive background spans over fifteen years in human resources, training and development, organizational effectiveness, and management consulting. Julie joined the Columbia corporate team in 2006.

As Vice President of Human Resources, Julie provides direction and leadership to the HR and Training activities across the organization.  Her focus includes programs and procedures relating to all phases of employment experience, including recruiting and selection, team member on-boarding, employee relations, benefits, performance management, career development, reward and recognition, and management development.

Approaching human resources with a business focus and a results orientation, Julie is focused on aligning people and human resource processes to support our team members and achieve results for our owners.

Prior to joining the Columbia team, Julie honed her extensive capabilities while providing high-level leadership in several organizational and human resource capacities at Washington Mutual Bank, Myrio Corporation, and Starbucks.

Active in her community, Julie is a volunteer leader of Seattle Inner City Outings, a Sierra Club program that provides urban children with outdoor experiences. Professional memberships include Society of Human Resource Management, Pacific Northwest HR Strategic Forum, and Organizational Development Network.

Julie earned a Masters in Business Administration from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Northwestern University in Illinois.
