Katie Nessel joined Columbia Hospitality in 2015 with a diverse background in hospitality and marketing, spanning from family-owned restaurants to convention centers. As director of communications for Columbia Hospitality, Katie is responsible for maximizing awareness for the company's unique portfolio through creative and integrated campaigns. Katie oversees public relations, social media marketing and online reputation management. During her tenure, Columbia and its portfolio have received many prestigious accolades and coverage in outlets such as Travel & Leisure, Sunset, Travel Channel, and The New York Times.
Upon joining Columbia, she conceptualized and launched a company-wide philanthropy program, Columbia Cares. Since its inception Columbia and its properties have supported dozens of organizations around the country and donated hundreds of hours of service.
A Bellevue native, Katie graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a French minor. Prior to joining Columbia she oversaw marketing and events for the region's leading lifestyle publications under Tiger Oak Media. In her free time she loves traveling, trying the newest restaurant in town and golfing.
